The M3 Heliodisplay is the latest mid air projector from IO2 Technology. It can float a 30 inch HDTV video into the air. While it looks like a holograph, the image is actually flat, but it does float. You can also use the image like a virtual touch screen. The unit can be purchased for under $20,000.
Face it. Your LCD tv is so 2006, it’s not even funny! The M3-series is the next-generation mid-air projector capable of producing a 30-inch diagonal (76cm) display area (4:3 aspect). Heliodisplay images are unique and offer many advantages over existing displays due to their non-physical floating characteristics and are visible under normal lighting such in an office or corporate center. Images or video play directly from a computer or DVD player using a standard video or computer cable. The M3 Heliodisplay supports full-color video and images projected in free space, in the same proportion (4:3) as a conventional monitor, as well as supports a 16:9 widescreen aspect ratio. The M3i includes the same features and specifications as the M3, but includes additional capabilities of interactive cursor control--allowing you to use your finger for general gesture virtual mouse control.

In my opinion, this is where the future of communication is going. Everything is becoming synchronized as one. I love the fact that the M3i comes is the same aspect ratio as HDTV (16:9). The fact that it can also become a virtual touch screen makes this innovation even more appealing. It is truly amazing what this innovation can do, instead of having to be projected on to something, it can merely float and you can have the same quality with it as you do with an HDTV! Now that's pretty cool.
